Where to download FTP clients
FTP- File Transfer Protocol is a means of connecting two computers so files can be moved between them.

An FTP system allows users to connect to a system so they can upload, (move files from their own computer to the other system), or download, (copy files from the sytem they have connected to on to their own computer.) An FTP also gives the owner of the system, the control over who connects to it and what they can access once they have connected.

FTP systems all need 3 things to make a connection:
A username- often times takes the form of an email address. user@domainname.com
A host or IP to connect to- This may be a server name, an IP address, or the domian name itself.
A password
There is anonymous FTP connection, which must be enabled by the account owner.
FTP is one of the easiest and fastest ways to transfer files from one place to another. It creates a direct connection. There is both command line FTP and user interface FTP where a person can simply drag and drop files from one window to another.
