What you need to set up your email.
  • Email address - bob@example.com

  • Email password - password

  • Name of incoming mail server - pop.example.com

  • Name of outgoinging mail server - smtp.example.com

  • Incoming mail port - default port for pop is 110

  • Outgoing mail port - default port for pop is 25

  • any required authentication / encryption

  • type of mail POP / IMAP


  • Pegasus mail

    Open the Pegasus Mail program
    If you have not yet set up an email account, the welcome will launch.
    Choose how many people will be using the program

    Choose the path/directory for the mailbox set up -create a new one for each new user
    Click OK

    Choose to create a NEW account.

    Give youe account a user name
    Enter your name
    Set your mail privileges (usually administrator if you are setting up your own email account)
    Click OK

    Select the user to set up the email account

    pegasus_mail
    Click next to continue

    pegasus_mail
    Enter your email address
    Click Next

    Enter the incoming mail server
    Click Next

    Enter your user name (This may be the entire email address or just the user name-
    pegasus mail tends to automatically tack on the @domainname portion so with pegasus mail you usually only need the user name portion
    Enter the password
    Click Next

    If you do enter the entire email address you may receive this message

    Enter the incoming mail server
    Click Next

    pegasus_mail
    Enter the outgoing mail server
    Click Next

    Choose the type of connection
    Click Next

    Click finish

    To set the specific configurations or to make changes to an existing email account

    Click on TOOLS and choose INTERNET OPTIONS

    Set the Incoming mail port in the RECEIVING TAB
    Click Edit

    Make sure that the name for this definition is properly set to your user name or email address depending on what you should use
    Set the incoming mail server port

    Set the Outgoinging mail in the SENDING TAB
    Click edit

    pegasus_mail
    Set the Outgoinging mail port
    Then choose the security tab

    Set the Outgoinging mail authentication
    If you choose to use the same user and password as the incoming mail server
    Click Select
    Some internet service providers or network systems may require you use their settings for outgoing mail

    Select the email account to use the settings for.
